Where in the world is Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is one of seven countries in Central America, sandwiched between Nicaragua to the northwest and Panama to the southeast. It is not an island as some have surmised, but does have significant waterfront on both the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea. Its longitude is 10 N and latitude is 84 W.

Flying into Liberia Airport (LIR)

Daniel Oduber International Airport also known as Liberia Airport is located about 8 kilometers from the city of Liberia (10 minutes driving distance).

It is possible to rent a car in Liberia and drive it to Surfside or you might want to arrange a pickup in a van that is very comfortable and affordable. The drive is approximately one hour to Surfside.

The house is on a quiet street about 300M from Potrero Beach, about a 5 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride away. Built in the mid-nineties, it has been completely renovated and upgraded in 2014. It is a typical Costa Rican house, with locally-made fine wooden furniture and cabinetry.

Inside, there is a comfortable living/dining area, with a fully-equipped kitchen and bar in one corner. There are three bedrooms: the master with its unique king bed, one with two doubles and the third with a double and a single. There are two bathrooms, one is a shared ensuite.

The yard has some shady areas under the fruit trees: mango, lime, coconut, banana and star fruit. There is a kitchen patio and lots of parking space. It’s the perfect vacation home for one or two families, at a very affordable price. 

The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities, with all new appliances including a dishwasher. Food service is via a stunning two-tier granite counter top with stool seating, opening onto the living area. The conversation area features a comfy tropical-themed couch and chair. Air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout add to your comfort.

The master bedroom features a luxurious king-sized bed. The head of the bed is unique in that it is a slice of a guanacaste tree. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms have cushy new double mattresses on hand-crafted hardwood frames. The 2nd bedroom shares an ensuite bathroom and laundry. All bedrooms have ample closet space. Both bathrooms are completely renovated with fine tile work and feature artisanal hand-painted sinks.

The condo overlooks Potrero Bay with its sweeping seascape vista and spectacular sunsets. Walk to the end of our yard and you’re on the beach. Potrero Beach is about 5 km long, very clean and very unspoiled, yet you’ll seldom find more than a dozen people on it. With its calm waters and no riptides it may well be the safest beach in Costa Rica. 

Inside, there is a large, comfortable living area with the balcony and ocean on one side and the fully-equipped kitchen and bar on the other. Stereo, TV and High-speed Wireless are provided. There are two bedrooms: one twin, and one queen, and two bathrooms. As well, the livingroom couch has a fold-out double bed.

Relax on the balcony with a frosty drink and a book, cool off in the pool, or picnic in the palm grove by the beach and watch the waves. It’s all right here.
